Diabetes and Hair Loss
Diabetes and Hair Loss: Don’t Lose Your hair Because of Diabetes Quite often, significant hair loss can alert an individual to the possibility of the development of diabetes. If an individual is losing hair in larger than normal quantities, and the loss does not appear to be common pattern hair loss, evaluation by a medical professional would be warranted. The reason is this: diabetes is a disease that is hormonal related, and this imbalance can often be seen first in loss of hair. The links between hair loss and diabetes are as follows:
1. Diabetes causes poor blood circulation. Poor blood circulation can affect the ability of hair follicles to operate normally. Under normal conditions, hair grows for 2-6 years; then it goes into a period of dormancy, and eventually it dies and falls out as a new strand is produced in the follicle to push it out. When blood circulation is poor, the follicle is not producing a new strand as normal, the old strand dies and falls out, and there is no replacement hair. Further, strands tend to die and fall out more quickly when blood circulation to the head area is poor. Therefore, more hair falls out and is not replaced, creating much thinner hair.

Nutritional Supplements, Vitamins & Herbs
Saw palmetto - Saw Palmetto oil is an accepted treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia in men. It seems to interact with various sex hormones, including dihydrotestoseteron (DHT). DHT is produced from testosterone by enzyme 5-alpha reductase. Like most enzymes, can be prevented. It has shown great interest in the medical subtances that have the potential for the inhibition of 5-alpha reductase, and thus the prevention or treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Theoretically, saw palmetto may also be used to block and prevent DHT hair loss. Valerian root is of the view that a similar mechanism of action to the anti-androgenic drug finasteride (Propecia), which has been used in low dosages for hair loss.
Provillus Review
Provillus is a combination supplement and topical treatment for hair loss. They use FDA approved hair loss treatment Minoxidil combined with Saw palmetto to block DHT. On paper it’s one of the best hair loss treatments available.
Provillus has formulations specifically for men and women.
How Provillus Works
Similar to other hair loss treatments Provillus is a DHT blocker. Depending on where you’re purchasing Provillus (United States or Internationally) will determine what you get with your package.
In the US there is the Provillus supplement, as well as the topical treatment Provillus lotion. Internationally Provillus only ships the supplement.
This is a two pronged approach to battling hair loss. The lotion which contains 5% Minoxidil (the only FDA approved substance for hair loss treatment) along with alcohol, propylene glycol, and purified water works to counteract hair follicle shrinking on the scalp.
Minoxidil is proven to allow the regrowth of thicker and fuller hair, and this isn’t just a product claim it has been proven.
The Provillus supplement contains a slew of natural ingredients. Saw palmetto is present to stop the build up of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) on the scalp, and another half dozen or more ingredients that aid in the regrowth of new healthy hair.
This is one of the best blended hair loss treatment systems on the market. Continue Reading >>
Provillus Saved My Hair
Hey there,
This blog is going to be about my experience with Provillus.
If you haven’t heard about this stuff - I have to say it really changed my life for the better. This isn’t the usual Internet hyped up BS you read everywhere - this genuinely worked for me at a time when my confidence was at a low ebb.
Maybe you’re like I was and you’re hair has started to recede at the temples.
That much I could handle!
It was when it started to thin at the front of my hairline - to a point where the scalp was showing through - that I really started to panic. I mean if I got a bit sweaty at work or wherever, my scalp would start to look real bad. The hair would get all clumped together and big swathes of skin would show through - aaarrggh, I hated it!
So my search began for something that would reverse the process. I was aware that there wasn’t actually a full on cure for baldness…but I did know that it could be “improved”.
In actual fact, the results were so much better than I expected.
Provillus - It Worked For Me
This is my final provillus review, my summation of how and why provillus worked for me.
If you want to get really in-depth by all means subscribe to my hair loss newsletter over there on the right.
I’ll admit when I first went to buy provillus I was apprehensive. I’d had so many products promised to me that they’d work…and been badly let down.
Was Provillus going to be another one of those “cures” that punch me in the guts like all the rest?
When I first started taking it….nothing happened. My hair continued to come out in the shower and I’d see wispy strands on my pillow in the morning.
I began to get that sad feeling in my stomach, I began to get anxious that I’d wasted my money and was doomed to a life without hair. (Look, I’m not vain or anything but losing your hair is a real blow to the confidence)
But then…my hair stopped falling out (it didn’t start growing back, but it got slower and slower falling out until it pretty much stopped)
Hmmm I though this looks good, maybe there is something to this provillus stuff.
Anyway, I carried on taking it. Now here was the weird thing… Continue Reading >>
